Reifer and Blackwood steadied the ship for West Indies with a 64-run stand for the third wicket but Nortje dismissed the latter to bring South Africa back in the match. Chase gave good support to Reifer but the last session saw West Indies lose 7 wickets for 43 runs. Nortje completed five wicket haul with West Indies giving away a lead of 130.

The West Indian bowlers responded brilliantly in South Africa’s second innings reducing the hosts  to 49/4 just before end of the day. Alzarri Joseph picked up 2 wickets, while Kemar Roach and  Jason Holder picked up one wicket a piece.
