SA beat IND: Where did India go wrong?
- Batting collapse in all three Tests was the primary reason for India’s failure.
- In the 2nd Test, 1st innings, India were bowled out for 202 from 116/4. In 2nd innings, India were dismissed for 266 from 155/2.
- In the 3rd Test, 1st innings, India were all out for 223 from 167/4. In 2nd innings, India were dismissed for 198 from 152/4.
- In batting, the middle-order was the most inconsistent one. Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane managed half-centuries in each in 2nd Test but that was the only contribution.
- Unlike the England tour, India’s lower-order failed to contribute.
- In fact, India received more extras (136) than the top 3 of India’s batting — Ajinkya Rahane (136), Mayank Agarwal (135), Cheteshwar Pujara (124).
