After rain played spoilsport delaying the start by five and half hours, South Africa resumed at 118/2. Dean Elgar soon brought up his half-century while Rassie van der Dussen scored 40. While Mohammed Shami dismissed Dussen after drinks break, Elgar continued at a brisk pace to chase down the record target.

SA beat IND 2^nd Test Highlights: Before this match, South Africa had chased down just 217 against New Zealand at this ground. But they made short work of the record chase as they kept on building 40-50 run partnerships to take the match away from India. Dean Elgar carried his bat with a gutsy 96 to beat India by 7 wickets.

With no Virat Kohli, who was out injured, KL Rahul led the side. He won the toss and opted to bat first but South Africa bowlers were at par. Apart from KL Rahul’s 50 and R Ashwin’s 46 were not enough as India were bowled out for 202.

SA beat IND 2^nd Test Highlights: South Africa took a crucial 27-run lead with Keegan Petersen scoring maiden half-century and Temba Bavuma scoring fifty. But it was Shardul Thakur who set the pace. His 7/61 was what kept South Africa in check.

However, India could only manage 266 despite Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane stitching together an important partnership of 111. But they could only set 240-run target and despite rain delay, South Africa achieved it with quite an ease. It was the fourth-highest run chase against India since 1930.
