DC beat RR Highlights: Chasing a target of 161, Delhi Capitals were dealt an early blow with Trent Boult sending KS Bharat back. But then on, DC did not have to look back.
Mitchell Marsh, who had been struggling for form, hit the top gear, smashing 62-ball 89, his highest of IPL. David Warner smashed an unbeaten 41-ball 52 as the duo added 144 runs for the second wicket.
- In between a few incidents went against Rajasthan Royals. David Warner would have been dismissed when he was on 22.
- But Yuzvendra Chahal’s delivery did hit the stumps but the bails did not come off, giving him a lifeline.
- Before that, Mitchell Marsh survived after Sanju Samson decided against taking a review when he was batting at just 3.
- Boult’s delivery struck Marsh on the pad but Samson talked Boult out of taking a review as he thought there was an inside edge.
- But the replays showed that the ball touched the pads before the inside edge and had RR taken a review, he would have been dismissed.

Ravichandran Ashwin smashed his maiden T20 half-century while Devdutt Padikkal scored a quickfire 48 to help Rajasthan Royals post 160/6 in 20 overs. But it was DC who made a fine comeback at the death, scalping wickets regularly.
Sent to bat, RR were off to a slow start and lost Jos Buttler inside the powerplay. Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed in the 9th over. But Ashwin kept going, bringing up his maiden IPL half-century. While Sanju Samson’s gamble of sending him to No 3 paid off finally, he did not last long, managing just 6. But Devdutt Padikkal smashed 30-ball 48 ensuring RR post a competitive 160-run total.
