RR vs DC: Jos Buttler, a crucial member of Rajasthan Royals (RR) batting line-up, required numerous stitches on his left little finger. This happened during a match against Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023) on Wednesday. And chances are he might not play against Delhi Capitals (DC) today as a result.
The Royals suffered a five-run defeat. As Buttler was receiving stitches for a small finger injury sustained while taking a catch to get rid of PBKS batter Shahrukh Khan, Ravichandran Ashwin was elevated to the position of opener.
In the final over, Buttler went from deep and grabbed a sliding catch off Jason Holder’s bowling, but he instantly appeared to be in discomfort as he departed the pitch with a few balls left.

Jos Buttler not FIT, confirms Sanju Samson
“Jos was not fit. He was getting stitches for his finger after the catch,” RR skipper Sanju Samson in the post-match presentation ceremony confirmed.
During post-match presentation, Buttler came to pick up his cheque while wearing a distinguishing white strapping on his little finger. He had received a sponsor’s prize for the best catch.
The Royals medical team may decide to let him rest for a game or two with the following game being played within 72 hours because the finger will undoubtedly be uncomfortable and fielding may be problematic.
RR vs DC – Rajasthan Royals eager for comeback
Rajasthan Royals will be eager to bounce back against Delhi Capitals after suffering narrow defeat vs Punjab Kings. In the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, Punjab Kings defeated Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023 Match 8 to win their second straight game and move up to second place in the standings.
Following an explosive start by Prabhsimran Singh (60 off 34), captain Shikhar Dhawan took the initiative with a superbly timed 86* off 56 balls as PBKS built a respectable 197/4. After Hetmyer (36 off 18) and Dhruv Jurel (32* off 15) had led RR’s comeback, Nathan Ellis then bowled an effective spell of 4/30 while Curran maintained his composure and protected 16 off the final over to help PBKS win by five runs in a tense finish.
