Prior to the 2024 Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have significantly reorganized their coaching staff.
Last season, the team led by Faf du Plessis had a dismal year in IPL 2023 as they failed to make it to the playoffs and ended at sixth position.
RCB will kick start the IPL 2024 by taking on defending champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 22.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore made drastic changes to their coaching staff after an unsuccessful IPL 2023 season where they were unable to qualify for the playoffs. Director of Cricket Mike Hesson and head coach Sanjay Bangar were let off.
Andy Flower, a great Zimbabwean cricketer and former head coach of England’s Men’s Cricket Team, has joined the Bengaluru-based team.
Flower has had tremendous success as a coach at the international and franchise levels. He played for his country in 63 Tests and 213 ODIs. The former wicketkeeper-batsman has coached Multan Sultans, St. Lucia Zouks, and Lucknow Super Giants in the Twenty20 league.
