Ronaldo was expected to make his Al Nassr debut against Al Ta’ee. However, the club official who did not wish to be named said that the club is yet to register the Portuguese skipper’s name because there is no vacancy for a foreign player. The club needs to register Ronaldo, either by selling or by terminating the contract of one player by mutual consent.

Currently, Al Nassr’s foreign contingent includes Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina, Brazilian midfielder Luiz Gustavo and forwards Anderson Talisca of Brazil and Vincent Aboubakar. Another source from the club said, “The negotiations are going on to sell one of the players but they have not reached the final stages”.
Ronaldo’s last appearance came for Portugal against Morocco during the FIFA World Cup 2022 quarterfinal match. The forward did not start that game but was introduced as a substitute in the second half.
