Roger Binny, Rajeev Shukla Visit Pakistan, get Warm Welcome by PCB Chairman

BCCI president Roger Binny along with vice-president Rajiv Shukla has crossed India’s crossed Attari-Wagah border to visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup on Monday. The BCCI has nominated its president Roger Binny and vice-president Rajeev Shukla to go to Pakistan and attend the matches during the Asia Cup 2023 campaign.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had extended an invitation to the Indian cricket board to attend the matches in the Pakistan leg of the tournament, which underwent on August 30. As mentioned in our previous articles, Pakistan will host four matches of Asia Cup 2023 while Sri Lanka will host nine.

“BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla and I will travel to Pakistan through the Wagah Border on September 4. Apart from the official dinner, we will also witness a couple of matches,” Binny said earlier.

“On September 7, the BCCI duo will return to India. This is the first trip a BCCI president will make to the neighboring nation since India and Pakistan broke up their bilateral cricket relationship in the wake of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks,” he added.

Meanwhile, both Binny and Shukla reached the neighbouring country where they were warmly greeted by PCB chairman Ashraf and other senior Pakistani delegates. Both Binny and Shukla are expected to stay in Pakistan for the next three days and are slated to watch the Asia Cup matches being held in the country.
