Roberto Firmino joined Liverpool from the Bundesliga side, Hoffenheim for a £29 million fee in 2015. For 8 years, he has given one after another brilliant performance. He has won the League Club, the Premier League title, the Club World Cup, the FA Cup, and the Champions League with Liverpool. He has also scored a total of 109 goals from 360 appearances for Liverpool.
However, with time, his playing time at Liverpool has lessened. After the new players, Cody Gakpo from PSV and Darwin Nunez from Benfica arrived at the club, Firmino started seeing less playing time. Firmino’s contract with Liverpool ends at the end of the season in June. Liverpool had offered him a new contract and Firmino turned them down.

The talented Brazilian is 31 years old. He has still some years left to his name and more good performances can still be expected from him. Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp was asked about the matter and he said that he would’ve liked to retain the talented player, but Firmino has chosen to leave the club. Klopp also said that Firmino has decided to move on to a new challenge.
As per report, Firmino will move to Spain once his Liverpool contract expires to join Barcelona. However, any further details regarding his deal with Barcelona has not come to light yet. Firmino sustained a hamstring injury which will keep him away from at least the next three matches. Klopp is hopeful that Firmino will be able to join the Reds before the end of the season. It is also expected that Firmino will also receive an emotional and fitting farewell in Liverpool’s last home game on May 20 against Aston Villa.
