Both teams will give a thought fight to keep their winning streaks before they approach a tough season.

Real Madrid approached this pre-season on the back of a tumultuous season. They managed to win three trophies last season, including Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and the Copa Del Rey. However, at the same time, their fluctuating performance in the domestic league saw them lose the edge. Barcelona took the opportunity and won La Liga where Real Madrid ended the season in 2nd place. The eventual Champions League winners Manchester City also humiliated Los Blancos in the semi-final to knock them out.
However, leaving the season behind, they have started this pre-season well with a win against AC Milan. They were on the backfoot at the end of the first half as Milan led by a 2-0 margin. However, Valverde scored a brace because of one mistake from the Milan goalkeeper and another from their defense. Then, the new No.7 Vinicius Jr. sealed the match for Madrid with a goal with only 6 minutes left on the clock. After Man United, they will face Barcelona and Juventus before the season starts on August 12.
Manchester United are having a hectic, yet successful pre-season campaign. Their first team started their journey on July 12 against recently relegated Leeds United. Then they took on Lyon and Arsenal and won all matches without conceding a goal. They won 2-0 against Leeds United and 1-0 against Lyon. Whereas, they ended their third match against Arsenal by a 2-0 margin before winning an exhibition penalty shootout against them by a 5-3 margin. In the meantime, their second team took on League Two side Wrexham yesterday.
Coach Erik Ten Hag lined up the second team against Wrexham. It may have been a good opportunity for the academy side to take the field for the Red Devils, they still could not win. The League Two side won the match by a 3-1 margin. However, it only gives the academy stars motivation to do better. Additionally, it doesn’t affect Red Devils’ first team who will still take on Borussia Dortmund, Lens, and Athletic Club. Their pre-season ends there with their Premier League campaign set to start on August 15 against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Real Madrid Team News
- Real Madrid are traveling with almost the full team with only one injury concern. Midfielder Dani Ceballos is the only player who sustained a thigh injury during training last week and he has been ruled out till September. First-team players David Alaba, Dani Carvajal, Luka Modric, Antonio Rudiger, and Thibaut Courtois started the last match as substitutes. They will be pushing for a start in this match.
- In the absence of ace striker Karim Benzema, coach Ancelotti lined up a 4-4-2 diamond formation against AC Milan. While they had some positive points to take from the match, they still had some difficulties. Hence, the coach could still make some changes to this squad. Either of the new recruits Brahim Diaz or Joselu would probably need to make way for Vinicius Jr. to start the match.
Manchester United Team News
- Man United recently completed the £47.2 million transfer of the former Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana. Coach Ten Hag could hand him his non-competitive debut in this match. Whereas, midfielder Fred has not played any of the pre-season matches because of a personal issue. It is unlikely that he will be featured against Los Blancos while Tyrell Malacia will also stay out due to a thigh issue.
- Anthony Martial was also suffering from a hamstring issue, but he is set to return to full training. Hence, the coach could give the French forward some playing time against Los Blancos. Additionally, Amad Diallo, who picked up an ankle injury during their match against Arsenal has assured the fans that the injury is not very serious. However, he could still remain sidelined for the match.
- The Red Devils are still searching for a new centre-forward and they could bring in Rasmus Hojlund. However, as of now, the coach needs to use the men he has in the squad. He could call up Jadon Sancho to play as a makeshift striker. However, the coach will probably line up last season’s top scorer Marcus Rashford in the position. Hence, either Alejandro Garnacho or Antony will need to make way for Sancho on either flank.
