The Indian board has airlifted the Indian dasher from Dehradun to Mumbai for ‘Further Treatment’. Pant is currently recovering after a horrific car accident in the wee hours of December 30, 2022. The star Indian wicketkeeper was at Max Hospital in Dehradun after a miraculous escape from his flaming car. But he will now be admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital for further treatment. “The BCCI have made all the necessary arrangements to shift India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant to Mumbai. Rishabh, who is currently receiving treatment for his injuries at Max Hospital, Dehradun following a car accident on 30th December, will be brought to Mumbai in an air ambulance,” BCCI said in a statement.

“He will be admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute and will be under the direct supervision of Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala, Head – the Centre for Sports Medicine, and Director – Arthroscopy & Shoulder Service at the hospital. Rishabh will undergo surgery and subsequent procedures for ligament tears and will continue to be monitored by the BCCI Medical Team throughout his recovery and rehabilitation,” BCCI said in a statement.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has already sent an air ambulance for Rishabh to Dehradun. InsideSport understands that Pant will shift to Kokilaben hospital by today evening.
There, he will undergo further treatments on his wounds. Once the swelling subsides on his knee and ankle, the doctors will treat him for his ligament injuries.

“Rishabh is being shifted to Mumbai for diagnosis and treatment of his ligament injuries and decide upon the further course of action. He is expected to be under the supervision of BCCI-empanelled renowned sports orthopaedic Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala. If there is advice for surgery, a call will be taken if it will happen in the UK or USA,” a senior BCCI source told PTI.

Pant has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back.
The severity of his knee ligament tear has already ruled him out of India vs Australia Test series as well as IPL 2023. He had plastic surgery on facial injuries.

- The 25-year-old falls asleep behind the wheel and crashes into a barricade on the Dehradun Highway
- He then escapes a falling car with the help of locals and is taken to Saksham Hospital in Roorkee.
- Pant is later shifted to Max Hospital in Dehradun for specialist treatment.
- The 25-year-old suffers two cuts on forehead, back and wrist injuries. Damage to the knee and ankle also done.
- He undergoes plastic surgery for abrasions and wounds. BCCI holds off ligament treatment.
- His brain and spinal cord MRI results returned normal. Scans for his ankle and knee are scheduled for Saturday.
- Following observation, Pant will travel to Mumbai for further assessment.
