Rinku Singh to cover all China travel cost of Aligarh well-wisher for Asiad

Last week, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) picked a second-string roster to compete in the Hangzhou Asian Games in China.

Notably, with the top players preoccupied with the ODI World Cup at home, Ruturaj Gaikwad will captain the team.

Rinku Singh Invitation for China

Meanwhile, after receiving a national call-up, Rinku Singh’s happiness knew no bounds. At an event in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh last week, the KKR star asked his well-wishers to come to China for Asian Games 2023 as per the Hindi daily Hindustan.

Rinku Singh, who was attending a public event for the first after being selected, also discussed placing lighting at the Aligarh Sports Association (Mahua Kheda) Stadium so that day and night matches could be easily played.

Mr. Arjun Singh Fakira, secretary of Jadaun Riders, Yogendra Singh Bunty, and Sanjay Maheshwari, patron of Maheshwari Creative Club, all presented Rinku Singh with a plaque and a Radha Krishna souvenir.

Rinku Singh invited all of his cricket supporters to the Asian Games 2023 cricket matches in China. “Brother, I will bear all the expenses of your travel and stay. You must come,” Rinku told Arjun as per Hindustan.

India Squad for Asian Games 2023 Cricket

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma have also been added to the roster. Jites Sharma is also in the squad despite not being selected for the West Indies tour. Aside from the 15-man team, the Indian cricket board has named five players on standby who would fly to China for the Asian Games in case of a last-minute emergency, such as an injury to one or more of these players.

Yash Thakur, Sai Kishore, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Hooda, and Sai Sudarsan are the backups. Interestingly, Shikhar Dhawan, the senior Indian batter whose name was circulating on social media as a prospective skipper of the Asian Games 2023 squad, does not even make the cut. The squad has offered opportunities to young players to demonstrate their abilities.
