Richard Illingworth, Ruchira Palliyaguruge to Officiate IND vs PAK Asia Cup Clash

IND vs PAK will be played on September 2 in Pallekele. Richard Illingworth and Ruchira Palliyaguruge will officiate the match.

The Asia Cup is nearing soon with all eyes on the clash between India and Pakistan. The match is set to be played on September 2 in Pallekele. Meanwhile, England’s Richard Illingworth and Sri Lanka’s Ruchira Palliyaguruge will be the on-field umpires for the high-octane match. Former Australia fast bowler Paul Wilson has been assigned as the third umpire. On the other hand, Indian veteran Javagal Srinath will be the match referee for the game.

Pakistan will host Nepal in Opening Match of Asia Cup

The opening encounter will be played between Pakistan and Nepal at Multan. England’s Chris Gaffaney along with Masudur Rahman will be the on-field umpires for the opening match. Meanwhile, Australia’s David Boon has been assigned the duty of match referee for the tournament opener.

At present, Pakistan is taking on Afghanistan in a 3-match ODI series. The Men in Green completed a dominating win against their opponents in the first match as Pakistani pacers completed a dominating performance as they bundled out Afghanistan under 60 runs. After the series, Babar Azam and Co. will travel back to Pakistan to prepare for the upcoming event.

As mentioned above, Pakistan will take on arch-rivals India in their second match of the Asia Cup. Pakistan will play their opening game of the marquee event on August 30 against Nepal. With the kind of form Pakistani pacers are in, they are expected to give a tough time to the Indian batters.

The Men in Blue have been exposed several times by the Pakistani pacers in ICC events. Rohit Sharma and Co. will be hoping to put on a strong batting performance against their neighbours. At present, the Indian contingent at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. The Men in Blue are gearing up for the mega event before travelling to Sri Lanka.
