Karim Benzema Transfer: Real Madrid superstar Karim Benzema is close to quitting the club. The 2022 Ballon d’Or winner is supposedly on the verge of signing with a Saudi Pro League team after allegedly receiving a €400 million two-year deal from an undisclosed club. Since the summer of 2009, Benzema has worked with Los Blancos as a player. The Frenchman has accomplished everything at the club, making 795 appearances over the course of 14 seasons while tallying 419 goals and 192 assists. Benzema is apparently growing restless at Real Madrid despite having a fantastic season. The Frenchman’s contract contains an unstated “Ballon d’Or clause” that allows him to sign a one-year extension with Los Balncos after winning the prestigious trophy in late 2022. But he has not yet made a formal announcement about staying with the team.

According to reports, Benzema and seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi have each been offered a huge deal by a Saudi Arabian club to help the country’s chances at the 2030 World Cup. The contract would pay him as an ambassador for the World Cup bid in the future and is reported to be worth more than €400 million (£346 million/$439 million) over two seasons.

Since joining Al-Nassr in late 2022, Cristiano Ronaldo has been playing in the Middle East, and the region wants to step up its preparations for the centennial World Cup in the following months. Voting for the 2030 host will take place in September 2024, and the bids from Spain, Portugal, Ukraine, and Morocco are expected to be competitive with Saudi Arabia’s candidature.

The France international has also won 24 major trophies for Real Madrid, including four La Liga titles and five UEFA Champions League trophies. He has also formed lethal partnerships with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in the past and with Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo more recently.

Karim Benzema scored 30 goals in 42 games this season, demonstrating that he is still capable of playing at the greatest level. If he decides to depart, Los Blancos will struggle to find a player of his level to replace him.
