RCB Playing XI vs SRH: Tim David to replace Dan Christian – Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have cleared their first hurdle and have qualified for the playoffs, with two games left in the season. The three-time finalists have been in one of the in-form teams and will look to continue their juggernaut and possibly seal a top-two place in the IPL 2021 points table. While most of the RCB squad has the weight of performances backing their selection, Virat Kohli is likely to be forced into a change due to Dan Christian’s poor form.
RCB Playing XI vs SRH: Already qualified RCB set to tweak combination – Tim David to get second chance after Dan Christian’s horror show
Tim David arrived in RCB amidst much fanfare having played a truckload of franchise cricket over the past year, impressing with his hitting range. The Australian born Singapore star however had to drop out of the XI after just a solitary game. With replacement Dan Christian struggling with both bat and ball, Virat Kohli could recall the hard-hitter to the XI, especially on a batting surface like the one at Abu Dhabi.
Wanindu Hasaranga is also another contender for the spot, but Shahbaz Ahmed’s form should ensure that RCB do not overload their spin bowling options and David’s expertise with the bat is far more crucial. The 25-year-old’s return will see Srikar Bharat return to his usual No.3 slot, with Dan Christian having played their last game only to depart for a duck.

RCB vs SRH IPL 2021: Probable RCB Playing XI
Openers: RCB have a settled opening combination and both Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal have been amongst the runs for the team. Kohli sneaked into the Orange Cap top 10 after going post 400 runs, while Padikkal has amassed 349 runs in 11 innings. More often than not, Kohli and Padikkal get RCB off to a great start, setting up their explosive middle-order to make a grand finish.
Middle-order: Srikar Bharat at No.3 acts as a perfect buffer for the hard-hitting trio of Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers and Tim David to follow. Bharat has shown glimpses of his talent and will be keen to continue his good show, while the onus again will be on Maxwell, RCB’s leading run-getter to set the tone. De Villiers and David will take up finishing duties alongside all-rounder George Garton.

Spinners: Yuzvendra Chahal has been in fine form in the UAE and has found a perfect partner in Shahbaz Ahmed, who has chipped in with wickets while keeping the scoring rate tight. Chahal has 14 wickets this season, while Shahbaz has chipped in with 7 in eight games.
Pacers: Purple cap leader Harshal Patel has been a revelation and will be supported by Mohammed Siraj in the attack. Garton will provide a supporting role with his pace, but the onus will be on the Indian quicks to deliver. Siraj only has seven wickets to his name this IPL, but has been frugal in the powerplay and at the death, conceding at just above seven runs an over.
