Raphinha joined Barcelona in 2022 from Leeds for a fee of about £50m. He signed a 5-year contract, which would keep him at Cam Nou till 2027. However, the 26-year-old hasn’t really adapted to the playing style and the conditions. He featured in 31 La Liga appearances and only managed to score 7 goals and assist 6 times. Most of the playing time he got was because of Ousmane Demebele’s injury.
The £70 million offer must be enough to convince Barcelona to offload the Brazilian. If they manage to sign Lionel Messi next summer, the option on the right-hand side will be more than enough. Not to forget, the amount Barcelona receive from Raphinha’s transfer will also help them stabilize their financial situation a little bit. The raised funds will be enough to register Gavi and Araujo’s new contract, which La Liga declined earlier.
