32 teams from all over India have been split into five groups. The top two teams from all the groups will make it to the next round. Some notable games on the first day include Hyderabad vs Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra vs Delhi, Bengal vs Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim vs Manipur.

SIK vs MAN: The two underdogs for the tournament Sikkim and Manipur will kick-off the Ranji Trophy 2022. Looking at their past records, both teams have nothing to lose but everything to gain. Two domestic giants Hyderabad and Tamil Nadu will take on each other in their opening encounter of the Ranji Trophy. Both teams had a decent outing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy but failed to win the prized trophy. Both Hyderabad and Tamil Nadu will look to have a much better outing in the upcoming domestic competition.

Bengal vs Uttar Pradesh:
