PV Sindhu’s knee injury might be more serious than expected, star pulls out of Syed Modi

PV Sindhu had suffered an ankle injury right after Commonwealth Games 2022, and had been struggling for form since then.

It was only last week that PV Sindhu had injured her left knee during the French Open Round of 16 match against Thailand’s Supanida Kathetong, but it might just be a little more serious than just a niggle. The 28-year-old has withdrawn from the upcoming Syed Modi India International 2023, which is supposed to be held from November 28 in Lucknow.

It is needless to say that PV Sindhu has missed the ongoing Hylo Open, and will also miss the Korea Masters, Kumamoto Masters Japan, and China Masters, all before Syed Modi India International 2023. It seems that Sindhu too had undermined her injury.

Sindhu, later on Twitter went on to say that, the break would help her focus on the Olympics and would be ‘back on the court very soon’.

It was just a few days back that Sindhu had comeback to the top-10 of the BWF rankings, after a gap of seven months. She was struggling for form upon her return from an ankle injury in 2022, right after the Commonwealth Games.
