PV Sindhu goes up two places, returns to Top 10 in BWF Rankings – Check Out

Following successive semifinal finishes at Arctic Open and Denmark Open, PV Sindhu has jumped up two spots in the latest BWF Rankings

After successive semifinal appearances at the BWF Tour, India’s PV Sindhu has returned to the Top 10 in the rankings. The double Olympic medallist has jumped two places and has reached the 10th place in the rankings that was updated on Tuesday, 24th October.

PV Sindhu’s Form in 2023

Earlier this year, Sindhu had dropped out of Top 10 after enduring a poor run of form. Following her second round exit from the Swiss Open, she went out of the Top 10 in the rankings for the first time in seven years.

She was ousted from the first rounds of seven different tournaments this year. However she took some time off just before the Asian Games and worked on her game at the Prakash Padukone Academy. At the Asian Games, she was ousted from the quarterfinal. Following that at the Arctic Open and Denmark Open she has been consistent by reaching successive semifinals in both the tournaments.

Unnati Hooda and Samia Farooqi improve, Saina Nehwal goes down

Youngster Unnati Hooda jumped up 50 places in the rankings. She recently won the Abu Dhabi Masters Super 100 title and is at the 102nd spot in the rankings. Sami Farooqi meanwhile finished as runner up in the same tournament. She has also improved in the rankings by moving up 17 spots and is now ranked 88th.

Saina Nehwal meanwhile dropped down 10 places to 63rd spot in the rankings. She is recovering from a knee inflammation and has been out of action since Singapore Open in June this year.

Chirag-Satwik retain World No.1 Ranking

World No.1 pair Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy meanwhile retain their World No.1 spot in the rankings. The duo reached the No.1 ranking for the first time after winning the Asian Games title recently. They missed the Denmark Open last week.

In Men’s Singles, HS Prannoy is also at the World No.8 spot. He is currently recovering from a back injury and will miss the French Open that is currently underway.

Lakshya Sen meanwhile slipped down a spot to 17th rank in Men’s Singles. Kidambi Srikanth meanwhile has gone out of the Top 20 in the world. He has dropped down two places and is at the 22nd position in the recently updated rankings.
