In Ranked Mode, up to 64 opponents battle it out in squad-based combat to try and increase their Rank using a new competitive ruleset that puts more focus on loot and pacing. As you complete ranked matches, your Rank Points will rise and fall depending on your performance, increasing and decreasing your Rank and Tier in turn.

There are additional requirements for starting a match in the Ranked queue. All squad members must meet these requirements to begin matchmaking.
- BATTLEGROUNDS Plus is required.
- Players need to reach a minimum Survival Mastery level of 80 before qualifying for ranked.
- A squad cannot enter the queue if two players (who have completed placements) are too far apart in Rank from each other (10 divisions maximum). However, this is not mandatory for the random squad.
Ranked Mode rulesets are shown below.
- Ranked mode games will be randomly played on Erangel (40%), Miramar (40%), or Taego (20%).
- Ranked mode will operate under its own match settings.
- These settings include:
- An overall increase in item loot spawns
- No tactical gear (Drone/EMT)
- No Spike trap spawns
- The red zone has been removed
- The timing and speed of the Blue Zone has been adjusted to increase the pace of play
- Map specific features have been changed on Taego
- The Error Zone has been removed
- No AEDs
- The Comeback Arena has been disabled
- The emergency Landing has been disabled
- Mortars have been removed
- Bluezone Grenades have been removed
- Exact settings are subject to adjustment throughout the season, especially at the start of new seasons.
- Changes in the ranked mode ruleset will be posted via an announcement in the most recent patch notes.
