Coming to the match, Rilee Rossouw’s explosive batting helped Multan Sultans, who defeated Quetta Gladiators and made an incredible comeback in Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8, successfully chase down 111 runs with nine wickets in hand.
Ihsanullah dominated in just his second PSL match, grabbing five wickets and only conceding 12 runs, shining brightly with his fast deliveries and taking back-to-back wickets. Sameen Gul and Abbas Afridi, the Sultans’ other two pacers, both contributed a wicket to their team’s early success.
In a thrilling nine-wicket triumph, Multan Sultan upset Quetta Gladiators by nine wickets. For the home team, Usama Mir came through by trapping Mohammad Nawaz for a leg before wicket on the penultimate delivery of his second over, bringing Quetta two to 66-6 in 12 overs.
Masood was sent back to the pavilion by Nuwan Thushara, giving the Gladiators an early lead. A stunning bouncer from Ihsanullah struck Umar Akmal’s bat and was caught behind by Mohammad Rizwan, giving the right-arm bowler his fifer.
Quetta’s innings came to an end when Mohammad Hafeez was caught by Abbas after scoring 18 runs. The Sultans easily won in 13.3 overs thanks to a 108-run partnership between Rossouw and Rizwan.
