PS5 Titles to get more expensive in India thanks to Ubisoft: If you are planning to buy a new PlayStation 5 (PS5) or Xbox Series X in India, you need to read this news first before buying it. Ubisoft recently raised the prices of PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X games in India. It was first spotted in Ubisoft’s upcoming title “Rainbow Six Extraction” where the company has shown the 4,999 INR price tag for all consoles.
On Games, The Shop digital retail store of video games also listed the price to 4,999 INR. If we take a look at details Games The Shop is owned by E-xpress which is the official distributor of Ubisoft in India. It seemed like an error first when users check the price tag of 4,999 INR as $60 USD which is the actual price of PS5 Titles by Ubisoft for Consoles which have usually Rs. 3,999 or 3,499 INR in India.

This change will not affect PS5 Titles which already have the price of Rs. 3,999. These price changes matters as Ubisoft is one of the biggest publishers in India where they also have a game development studio in India. Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs, and Far Cry are best sellers in India. Many companies started increasing their game prices as EA has locked the price of Battlefield 2042 to Rs. 4,499.
Will, it affects the sale of PS5 titles in India?
We don’t know the reason behind this decision and Ubisoft is also not released any statement regarding raise in price. It might be possible that other publishers also join the same pace. If we take a look at the Bandai Namco and Sega’s recent PS5 Games release “Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Scarlet Nexus”, publishers decided to stick at the same price range as Rs3,499 to 3,999.
