10. The Relegation zone: With Norwich, Newcastle and Burnley currently at the bottom of the table things might change quickly with a few reinforcements in the January Transfer Window as the race to stay afloat heats up. Brentford, Watford, Everton and Leeds are also threatened as just a few points are separating the sides from the relegation zone.

Newcastle will definitely look to spend big cash to get big name players to save them from relegation and then next season challenge for a Top 8 potentially. While Dean Smith who was positive about changing his team’s performance has failed to do so with loads of injuries and Covid contracted players.

One noticeable name is West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen who is third with 7 assists in level with Jesus and Pogba has caught the eye with a brilliant performance so far this season.

The players who are absent from here and were expected to top the list are Bruno Fernandes and Kevin De Bruyne who have just provided 3 and 1 assist respectively. Although, their teammates Paul Pogba and Gabriel Jesus have claimed 7 assists each. 8. Summer Transfer 2022: A new season of Premier League 2022/23 will await the teams in the summer of 2022. The Premier League fixtures dates have already been announced in November. With the 2022 Qatar World Cup set to take place in November and December. This means the campaign will begin on August 6th which also indicates that clubs will start looking for their main men during the Summer Transfer window.

This could be another Transfer window with loads of players coming in and out. Also not to forget that we will also have new managers coming with Manchester United potentially looking at Erik Ten Haq and Mauricio Pochettino. And if Newcastle manage to stay afloat, along with Manchester United & City, Chelsea, Arsenal & Liverpool they could also be spending loads of cash in the summer.

7. A new Premier League season with the World Cup 2022: The Premier League fixtures dates have already been announced in November. With the 2022 Qatar World Cup set to take place in November and December. The league will break for over a month but return for the traditional Boxing Day fixtures just a week after the World Cup final on 18 December.

6. Best Full-backs of the Premier League: With eyes totally on the the full-back positions in the Premier League, the likes of TAA, Reece James, Joao Cancelo, Robertson, Chilwell, Luke Shaw and Lamptey have been the standout names so far. All these full-backs have been in top form chipping in goals, assists and most importantly attacking assistance and threat.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has scored 2 goals and claimed 8 assists so far this season and will look to produce more impressive numbers in order to set his place in the World Cup squad with his compatriot Reece James scoring 4 goals and providing 5 assists. On the other hand the Portuguese Joao Cancelo has been the standout full-back so far scoring 1 goal and providing 4 assists nut most importantly keeping clean sheets too.

5. The Golden boot: This season has been surprising after seeing the names on the scoring charts with Harry Kane missing, Raheem Sterling, Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku missing out from the Top 5. Although Mo Salah and Jamie Vardy have always been in the race for the Golden boot but in second place is Diogo Jota with 10 goals all coming from open play and no penalties.

After Ronaldo’s goal yesterday night he is on level with Son, Raphinha, Dennis and Emile Smith-Rowe in the Premier League. Mo Salah might well as be the favourite to take the Golden boot although Harry Kane is not giving up yet after scoring 3 goals in his last 3 games taking his tally to 4 goals.

4. Top 4

With the Top 3 almost being decided but it still too early to predict anything with Chelsea dropping a lot of points in December which has proved them costly and the gap now is 8 points to Manchester City. The favourites to finish in the Top 4 are Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea in that order.

But currently the 4th place is being battled by four teams in West Ham United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United. With teams having games in hand to play due to Match postponements is it hard to predict anything at the moment.

3. January Transfer Window:

There may be lot of movement in the Premier League with the January Transfer Market resuming. Loads of players will be going in and out to find a better club for themselves and so will the clubs try to find good reinforcements to end the season with many loan deals in place.

Said Benrahma, Jesse Lingard, Martin Odegaard were some of the star names in the January Transfer window of 2021. This year too Jesse Lingard may look for a move elsewhere with a lack of playing time at Manchester United.

2. Premier League Covid outbreak:

Many teams, players and fans especially have suffered from the outbreak with several matches getting postponed including few Boxing Day matches and New year matches. This has raised a concern among managers and teams as teams are not able to field the required number of players due to them being in isolation or out due to injury.

In 2022 we will have to wait and see how the fixtures will be affected with the rise in COVID cases once more in the country and worldwide. The teams had a meeting together to decide for a break in the Premier League but everybody disagreed and decided to continue play. Many managers and star players have tested positive which has left the team handicapped without their players.

1. The Premier League Title race

The three-way horse way has turned into a one-way race already before the year ends. With Chelsea and Liverpool both dropping crucial points, Manchester City have taken a 8 point lead going into the New Year 2022. City haven’t stumbled recently keeping their series of performances above par.

If Manchester City stumble Liverpool and Chelsea should be quick to react and take the opportunity to cut the gap between them for a chance to lift the trophy in 2022.
