N’Golo Kante will not be available for selection for Chelsea until the end of February or the beginning of March as the midfielder recovers from hamstring surgery, according to head coach Graham Potter. In October, Kane suffered hamstring surgery, rendering him inactive for four months. It will be some time before the 31-year-old Frenchman returns to action, Potter acknowledged before of Chelsea’s Premier League return against Bournemouth.
The defensive midfielder’s contract is set to expire at the conclusion of the current campaign. When questioned if Kante’s future would need to be decided before his return from injury, Potter stated his top goal was to make sure the Frenchman regained full fitness. Wesley Fofana, who left Chelsea’s friendly match against Brentford on Tuesday with a knee injury, faces a lot of weeks away from the field. Fofana had hoped to return against Bournemouth on Tuesday, but his return has been postponed until next month.

Jadon Sancho isn’t expected to be available for Manchester United’s Christmas Day match against Nottingham Forest as the struggling England star continues his recovery outside of the team. Sancho hasn’t played for United since October, and manager Erik ten Hag said he wasn’t physically or mentally prepared to participate in the training camp earlier this month in Spain. Working with trainers advised by Ten Hag, the 22-year-old has been in Holland and has taken a break from social media.
