It takes a special man to score a special ton. And Prabhsimran Singh’s tremendous knock was nothing less than a spectacle. While the rest of the Punjab Kings batters crumbled, it was the young opener who commanded the ship. He played a sensational knock where he brought up his maiden IPL ton and helped PBKS register 167 runs on the board.

Such has been the influence of the young opener that he single-handedly managed to scored 62% of the runs for the entire team. While his fellow batters departed in single digits, it was him who went on to register a triple digit score. He blistered his way to reach his century and took just 61 balls to reach the landmark.

Batting with a strike rate of 158, his thunderous innings consisted of 10 fours and 6 huge sixes. Punjab Kings will hope to bowl down to beat Bottom placed Delhi Capitals and keep themselves in contention for the IPL Playoffs.

“I thought to take time and pounce on the loose ball to convert. As I started the season, I wanted to make it a good season. Pitch was tough for batting but it was easier for the set batsman. Even in domestic cricket, this is how I celebrate. The celebration was saying thanks to the management. On this wicket, playing the pace bowlers was easy and the balls were in my slot,” said the young centurion.
