AFC Asian Cup: Indian Women’s Team to face Brazil, Chile, and Venezuela ahead of forthcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup- The Indian Women’s Football Team will lock horns with Brazil, Chile, and Venezuela a part of an exposure tour for the Indian Women’s Team’s preparation. The Indian Senior Women’s National Team will face the 2007 World Cup finalists Brazil on November 25th as India kickstarts its campaign against the 2-time Olympic silver medalist the Canarinhas.

Brazil is currently ranked 7th in FIFA rankings while India is ranked 57th. In this tour, India will play a total of 3 matches which include Chile who is ranked 37th, and Venezuela who is ranked 56th a rank above India.

AFC Asian Cup: Indian Women’s Team to face Brazil, Chile, and Venezuela ahead of forthcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup 

Indian Women Football Exposure Tour- Before this, the Indian Women traveled to Dubai, Bahrain, and Sweden to play a series of friendlies. Also, earlier in 2021, the women’s team traveled to Turkey and Uzbekistan as well.

It is going to be a great tour for the Indian women’s team as they are going to play friendlies against teams like Brazil, Chile, and Venezuela. The Indian players will be able to see and learn the South American way of playing football. These matches are also going to be great preparation for the upcoming Asian AFC Women’s Championship 2022. The Indian players will get a good exposure.” said senior Indian National woman footballer Bala Devi in a conversation with InsideSport.

AFC Asian Cup: AIFF looking to arrange for more international exposure

The departure date for the team is not yet out, but the AIFF is looking to arrange for more international exposure for the women’s team.

While all of these countries will give India a very tough competition, Bala Devi believes that a good performance against higher-ranked teams boosts the morale of the team and gives them confidence ahead of important tournaments.

Players will give it their all in a tournament like this as a good performance will give them confidence for Asian AFC Women’s Championship 2022,” explained Bala Devi while speaking to InsideSport.

Unfortunately, I might not be able to go as I am still undergoing rehabilitation for my ACL and it will be difficult for me to recover for this tournament.” said a disappointed Bala Devi to InsideSport.

The veteran Indian footballer might not be able to play India’s first international friendly match against Brazil as she is still recovering from her ACL injury.
