Piyush Chawla’s International Debut: Chawla first played for India as far back as 2006. He was a very young bowler but possessed great skills like a googly. But because of bowlers like Harbhajan and Anil Kumble, he didn’t get too many matches at the time.
Piyush Chawla’s Test Record: The leg-spinner was overtaken after his debut by bowlers like Amit Mishra, Pragyan Ojha, and Ravichandran Ashwin for a spot in the Test team. He ended up playing just 3 games with the last Test being in 2012.
Piyush Chawla’s ODI Record: Chawla made his ODI debut in 2007 and managed to stay relevant till his selection for the 2011 World Cup. This was a golden opportunity for Chawla but he couldn’t grasp it and became out of favour with the selectors since then.
Piyush Chawla’s T20 Record: Despite being a regular feature of IPL, Chawla wasn’t able to establish himself in the T20 team of India and played just seven matches for the country. His last game in this format, in the blue jersey, was way back in 2012.
