Day one of the PKL auction started with a bang as Iran’s Mohammadreza Shadloui and India’s Maninder Singh secured deals over INR 2 Cr each, in Mumbai on Monday. Another player, Fazel Atrachali went past the crore mark, which just shows how desperate the teams were to bag these players. While Shadloui went for a staggering 2.35 Cr (Puneri Paltan) to become the costliest player in the history of Pro Kabaddi, surpassing Pawan Sehrawat, Maninder went to Bengal Warriors for 2.12 Cr.
But the fans were highly disappointed as former India skipper Deepak Hooda and Sandeep Narwal were not bagged by any team in PKL Auction. This drew a sharp reaction from one and all on Twitter. While there were some who thought they are the best all-rounders in the Pro Kabaddi, others thought the teams made a bad decision.
