PKL 2022 Highlights: Patna Pirates BEAT Dabang Delhi KC-  Unbeaten Dabang Delhi’s five match win streak came to an end as they lost to Patna Pirates 37-32 in Pro Kabaddi League Season 9. Earlier in the night, in-form Puneri Paltan defeated former champions Bengal Warriors 27-25. Earlier, U Mumba defeated Haryana Steelers 32-31 in the first match of the day. PKL 2022 LIVE: Patna Pirates vs Dabang Delhi KC

U Mumba produced a solid defensive display to beat Haryana Steelers 32-31 in a thrilling match of the Pro Kabaddi League
Season 9 on Friday. While Guman Singh picked up the first points for U Mumba, it was Meetu Sharma who got Haryana Steelers off the mark. U Mumba inflicted an all out to take a good lead in the first half. U Mumba pressed home their advantage and continued to pick up points quickly as the Steelers’ task became tougher. However, Nitin Rawal and Manjeet’s super tackle kept the Steelers in the hunt. At the midway point, U Mumba led 17-15, but the momentum was firmly with the Steelers.

U Mumba regained the momentum and surged ahead in the early part of the second half to widen the gap further. But Amirhossein Bastami and Sushil led the fightback for the Steelers as U Mumba’s lead continued to reduce. The Steelers took the lead with less than seven minutes to go when Jaideep Dahiya helped his team inflict an all out. The Steelers fought hard in the final phase of the game and seemed to be walking away with a win, but Guman Singh picked up a couple of crucial raids to help U Mumba clinch a thriller.

Puneri Paltan put on a spirited performance in the second half to register a hat-trick of wins in vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 9 after defeating Bengal Warriors 27-25 at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday. Captain Fazel Atrachali led from the front with 6 tackle points, while raider Aslam Inamdar scored 5 points.

Maninder Singh effected a few raids as Bengal Warriors took the lead at 6-5 in the 6th minute. However, Fazel Atrachali tackled Maninder soon after and levelled the score at 6-6. The Warriors were on the verge of getting All-Out, but defender Girish Maruti Ernak and all-rounder Manoj Gowda came to the rescue and helped their team take the lead at 12-9 in the 14th minute. Aslam Inamdar found it difficult to breach the Warriors’ defence as the Season 7 champions led at 15-11 by the end of the first half.

Puneri Paltan played with more determination in the second half, but the Warriors managed to stay in front at 17-15 in the 27th minute. However, Sombir tackled Shrikant Jadhav and Akash Shinde effected a raid soon after to level the score at 17-17.

Both sides kept trading points before Puneri Paltan tackled Rohit to inflict an All-Out and take the lead at 24-20. Fazel Atrachali also stepped up his game as Puneri Paltan continued to stay ahead at 27-22 in the 39th minute. Raider Mohit Goyat then treaded carefully and eventually closed out a comprehensive victory for Puneri Paltan.

PKL 2022 LIVE: Patna Pirates vs Dabang Delhi

Patna Pirates clinched their first victory of the season as they defeated the defending champions Dabang Delhi in the Pro Kabaddi League season 2022 on Friday. Dabang Delhi started the season by winning their first five matches and were hoping to win run to 6 matches. However Patna Pirates spoiled their party to register a memorable 37-33 win to revive their campaign.

Dabang Delhi started off the contest on a good note as Naveen as usual chipped in with his raid points and kept them in the lead. Delhi faced pressure from Patna’s Rohit Gulia and Sachin but a strong defensice show from Krishan, Manjeet and Vijay kept them in the lead. They managed to get an all-out over Patna and ended the first half with an 8-point lead.

The second-half began withPatna Pirates making a good comeback. Right from the start, Patna started collecting points and did not allow Delhi even a chance to get a point as they quickly reduced the deficit. Defender Mohammedreza Chiyaneh who had poor outings in the previous contest finally came back to his best as he kept Naveen silent, while raiders Rohit Gulia and Sachin managed to take good raid points to give lead to Patna. They inflicted two all-outs on the defending champions as for the first time in this tournament Delhi faced such a big challenge. Gulia took a Super 10, while Sachin scored 9 points as it paved the way for Patna to register their first victory of the season.  With the victory, Patna moved up from 12th to 11th in the points table.
