Strength

Puneri Paltan’s biggest strength lies in their raiding department. The team retained the raiding trio – Aslam Inamdar, Mohit Goyat and Akash Shinde, who were instrumental in taking the team to the final in the last season.

All the three players took more than 100 raid points in the last edition. They will once again be raring to go in the upcoming season. Apart from them, the team also have good back-ups in Pankaj Mohite and Akash Shinde.

Weakness

Fazel Atrachali was Puneri Paltan’s best defender in the last edition. He was also the team’s captain and led them to the final in the last season. However he was let go at the auction this year.

In place of him, they bought the services of Mohammedreza Shadloui. He has been the league’s best defender in the last two seasons. However the team lacks another good defender to partner Shadloui.

Abinesh Nadarajan and Sanket Swant, who took 32 and 30 tackles points respectively in the last seasons. have to step up in defence this time.

Opportunity

Fazel Atrachali guided the young team and helped them finish as runner-up in the last edition. In his absence, this season gives an opportunity for players like Aslam Inamdar, Mohit Goyat and even Shadloui to step up into the leadership role.

Threat

Pune’s inexperience might pose a threat to the side. The same set of players have done well in the last edition. However without an able leader like Atrachali to guide them, it remains to be seen how the players stick together and perform in crunch situations.
