Strength
Gujarat Giants acquired the services of the experienced Fazel Atrachali for 1.6 crore at the auction this year. In Fazel, the team has one of the best defenders as well as an able leader.
Under him, the team’s defence will be the biggest strength. Fazel also has solid support in Rohit Gulia, Sourav Gulia, Mohammad Nabhibhaksh, Sombir and Arkam Shaikh. This makes the Giants one of the best teams in defence on paper in the upcoming season.

Weakness
Gujarat Giants’ attack will be led by youngsters Rakesh Sangroya and Prateek Dahiya. While both the players have shown promise in the last season, they lack experience.
Sonu Jaglan, Nabhibaksh, GB More are also in the side and they can lend support to the young duo. However their form in raids in recent times haven’t been noteworthy.

Opportunties
Having solid all-rounders like Rohit Gulia, Arkam Shaikh and Mohammad Nabhibhaksh, Gujarat Giants have opportunities to try out different combinations in both attack and defence.
It might help the team have a slight edge over their opponents as they can keep them off-guard and leave them guessing.
Threat
The Gujarat Giants have a strong mix of experience and youth in their combination. However the experience is more aligned to the defence. They have to depend on young raiders to do the job for the side.
While it gives an opportunity for the likes of Rakesh and Prateek to make it big in the tournament, it also remains to be seen how they handle the pressure. After finishing eighth in the last season, the expectations will be high on the Atrachali-led Giants to deliver this season.
