If there is one team to watch out for in season 10 of the Pro Kabaddi League, it has to be Telugu Titans, simply for the reason, that they now have India skipper Pawan Sehrawat in their ranks. After two consecutive poor seasons, the PKL auctions were a signal that they are dead serious about PKL 10. InsiderSport does a SWOT analysis of the team.
Strengths
If one looks at their squad, apart from Pawan Sehrawat, they have a few seasoned pros like Parvesh Bhainswal and Rajnish Dalal. So all-in-all they have a solid group of senior players.
Raiding had been their biggest problem in the last two seasons, and that looks all but sorted after Pawan came into their ranks. Rajnish, who was their main raider, could come in as a second raider. Pawan could be the single biggest factor in the Titans’ success this year at PKL10.
Weakness
Inexperience in defence can be Telugu Titans’ biggest problem this year. Only Parvesh is the defender with solid experience behind him, while others are relatively new. Managing them could be a hard task for the senior members.
Opportunities
After the PKL auctions, every team is pretty much evenly matched. Every team has to start from scratch at the beginning of Pro Kabaddi. So Titans have a chance to start the league well and give the other teams a run for their money.
Threats
Now the biggest threat is undoubtedly their form in the last two PKL seasons. They have been nothing short of poor in PKL 8,9. That would have impacted their confidence greatly, and it could be difficult to get the mindset of a champion after so many losses.
