Cristiano Ronaldo: Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr after the World Cup 2022 ended. Prior to that, he was already seeing less amount of playing time at Manchester United. That created some rifts between him and the club. Following a Piers Morgan interview after a rough time at Man United and Portugal at the World Cup, he left for Saudi club Al-Nassr. However, Piers Morgan now claims that if Arsenal reached out to him at that time, they would win the Premier League title easily. Follow Premier League LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.

Arsenal are having a tremendous season as they were at the top of the Premier League table for most part of the season. They were 12 points ahead of then second-placed Manchester City at one stage in the league. However, as luck ran out, they started losing points near the end of this season. Manchester City took this opportunity and did not falter on their way to the top. They are now 4 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal having played one less game.

As per Piers Morgan, Cristiano Ronaldo wanted to join the Gunners back in January. However, Arsenal did not reach out to him and Ronaldo left for Saudi Arabia in the meantime. Morgan recently took to Twitter and posted, “Mock all you like, but if we’d signed Ronaldo when he left Utd, until the end of the season – as he was keen to do btw – we would have won the League. He knows how to win major trophies, and how to score goals when it really matters.”

As per Morgan, if Arsenal brought on Ronaldo in January, they would not have dropped points and won the title. Looking back to the Portuguese’s career, Ronaldo is a prolific striker who knows how to score amazing goals and a lot of them. However, the start striker has aged and his form started dropping long back. Looking at his impact on the game, Manchester United coach Erik Ten Hag lessened his playing time which eventually created problems between the club and Ronaldo.

Following the issues, he attended an interview with Piers Morgan where he made some explosive comments about his own club. This interview led to him leaving the club as a free agent. As per the player, he had several offers from many European clubs. However, as the Saudi club Al-Nassr presented him with the most lucrative deal, he signed with them. He moved to Al-Nassr in January, after the world cup ended, on a world-record deal of $220 million per year.

Keeping true to Morgan’s words, Ronaldo has scored 12 times from 14 appearances for Al-Nassr. However, his time at the Asian club has not been all sunshine and rainbows. Al-Nassr are placed second in the Saudi Pro League, 5 points behind league leaders Al-Ittihad with only 4 matches to go. They were knocked out of Saudi Super Cup near the end of January. They also got knocked out of the King Cup of Champions near the end of April. Hence, as of the current situation, Ronaldo might have to spend a trophyless season at Al-Nassr.
