DC beat PBKS Highlights: Punjab Kings were off to a steady start with Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow scoring at a brisk rate. But Anrich Nortje removed Bairstow in the fourth over and the floodgates opened.
Shardul Thakur dealt a double blow in the 6th over, removing Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Shikhar Dhawan, rattling Punjab. At the end of powerplay, PBKS managed 54/3 But the slump did not end there.
Mayank Agarwal nightmarish IPL season continued as he was sent back by Axar Patel for a duck in the 7th over. Kuldeep Yadav removed Liam Livingstone in the 8th over to put the final nail in PBKS’ coffin.
From 82/7, Jitesh Sharma partnered with Rahul Chahar for a 41-run stand that keep Punjab in the hunt. However, Shardul Thakur (4/36) returned to break the stand, removing Jitesh to ensure Delhi Capitals bag two crucial points.
Earlier, sent to bat, Delhi Capitals were off to a poor start. In form David Warner departed on the first ball. But Mitchell Marsh steadied the ship with new opener Sarfaraz Khan with a 51-run stand.
