Paul Pogba: Pogba’s agent Pimenta breaks silence on doping incident & playing ban

Paul Pogba will go through second set to tests to determine final doping results.

Paul Pogba has been temporarily suspended from playing. This occurred following his positive test for elevated levels of testosterone after Juventus’ 3-0 win against Udinese a few weeks ago. He will undergo a second set of tests to get a definitive result. However, considering his stature, Pogba has been shrouded in controversy as Juventus also released a statement a few days ago. Pogba’s agent has finally spoken up on the matter. Rafaela Pimenta recently said that it wasn’t Pogba’s intention to break the rules.

During the regular doping tests, Paul Pogba recently tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone. Pogba will go through a second set of tests. This will give them a definitive set of results. Juventus released a statement that read, “Juventus Football Club announces that today the player Paul Labile Pogba received a precautionary suspension order from the National Anti-Doping Tribunal following the adverse outcome of the analyzes carried out on 20 August 2023. The Company reserves the right to evaluate the next procedural steps.”

However, till the second test results come back, Pogba has been temporarily banned from participating in any footballing activities. If he fails those tests, then he will have to appear before the National Anti-Doping Tribunal. He could get banned from playing for upto 4 years as a punishment. In the cloud of controversy that’s surrounding Pogba, his agent Rafaela Pimenta broke her silence on the matter. She said, “We are waiting for the counter analysis and until then we can’t say anything.”

She added, “The certain thing is that Paul Pogba never wanted to break the rules.” It has only been a year since Pogba came back to Juventus after his contract with Manchester United ended in 2022. However, his return to the club has not gone well as he has only appeared in 10 matches for the Italian club throughout all competitions last season. It has only been a few days since Pogba got involved in a blackmailing incident. Apparently an organised gang that allegedly involved his brother Mathias targeted Pogba.

Insidesport

Following the incident, Pogba admitted that he wants to retire. He said, “When there is money you have to be careful. Money changes people. It can break up a family. It can create a war. Sometimes I was just by myself thinking, ‘I don’t want to have money anymore. I just don’t want to play anymore. I just want to be with normal people, so they will love me for me – not for the fame, not for the money.’ Sometimes it’s tough.”
