Trsitan Stubbs and Heinrich Klassen kept them in hunt with a few lusty hits, before Shaheen Afridi struck again to end Klassen’s stay. Earlier, Pakistan captain Babar Azam has won the toss and opted to bat first against SouthAfrica in Sydney. For Pakistan though, Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out with Mohammad Haris coming in as a replacement. For SouthAfrica, the biggest blow is the absence of David Miller. He was absent with a niggle along with Keshav Maharaj.

Mohammad Haris played a breezy cameo but Pakistan’s top order succumbed to the SouthAfrica pace test, losing their top order in a jiffy. Pakistan were reduced to 43/4 with the onus on Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Nawaz to rebuild. The duo put on a vital fifty partnership to get Pakistan off the dumps and hand them the momentum.
Nawaz’s dismissal brought Shadab in, who played a blinder. Shadab went all in as he smashed the second-fastest fifty of the tournament in just 20 deliveries. Iftikhar Ahmed also reached his half-century as Pakistan romped to 185 in their 20 overs. Shadab and Iftikhar put on a 82-run partnership in just six overs to take the game away.
