It was a demolishing job from Pakistan, especially by the spinners. While Naseem Shah and Shahnawaz Dahani wrecked HongKong’s top-order, restricting them to just 25/3 in the powerplay, it was the spinners who did the rest of the job. Shadab Khan was the best of the lot, bagging 4/8 in just 2.5 overs.
From the other end, Mohammad Nawaz was at his best as well. He returned with the figures of 3/5 in his two as Pakistan completed the formalities in 10.5 overs. With that, Pakistan have set up Round 2 clash with India in the Super 4.

Earlier, sent to bat, Pakistan posted 193/2 in 20 overs. Pakistan did not have a great start with Babar Azam falling to Ehsan Khan in the 3rd over. While Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman struggled to get going and keep up the pace, they added 116 runs for the 2nd wicket. Fakhar scored 41-ball 53.
However, Rizwan stepped feet on the gas at the death overs. His instant acceleration saw his score 57-ball 78 with the help of 6 boundaries and a 6. But it was Khsudil Shah who lit up the stage with a 15-ball 35-run knock.
