Babar Azam added a new feather in his cap as he went on to register 8000 runs in the shortest format of the game. He became the second fastest batter in the world to achieve this feat. Only West Indies great Chris Gayle takes the top shot. Babar Azam took just 218 innings to achieve this feat. Only Chris Gayle took fewer (213) innings to get this record.

Babar Azam registered yet another record as he went on to register 8000 in T20s. Shoaib Malik, however, holds the record for being the first Pakistani batter to register 8000 runs. Azam also registered most international centuries as a Pakistani skipper. He went past Inzamam-ul-Haq’s record. Babar now has 10 centuries as the skipper of Pakistan.
Babar slammed 110 runs in 66 deliveries to steer his side to a comfortable victory. He hit 11 fours and 5 sixes with a strike rate of 166. Babar scored his fifty in 39 balls and then switched gears to score the next 60 runs in 27 deliveries. After a lackluster performance in the Asia Cup 2022 campaign, the Pakistan team and the fans would be happy to see their captain roar back into form.
