When the landing area for bowlers get uneven, ground staff generally bring out a sledgehammer or a roller to smash the area and flatten the surface. But on Day 4, Australia skipper Pat Cummins, frustrated with Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique’s partnership, decided to do the ground work. He picked up the hammer during a Cameron Green over.
“There’s not much he can’t do, Pat Cummins. Handy on the Thor-like hammer as well,” commentator Simon Katich said.

The hard and dry Karachi pitch had become uneven and put the bowlers in danger while landing. He did fix the problem momentarily.
On Day 5, the problem resurfaced and David Warner decided to take up the hammer this time. While he fixed the landing problem for bowlers, Pat Cummins & Co could not deliver a win for Australia. They remained in the hunt and in the end, fell short by three wickets as Babar Azam and Pat Cummins shook hands.

All eyes will now be on the 3rd Test in Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium with both sides keen on getting a result after frustrating draws in the 1st and 2nd Test in Rawalpindi and Karachi.
