Chasing a low total of 109 runs, Pakistan suffered a big blow when Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman removed skipper Babar Azam cheaply in the third over. However, Mohd Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman stitched a 50-runs partnership and then steadied the run chase. Bangladesh enjoyed the second success in 16th over in the form of Mohd Rizwan but it was too late as the game had already slipped out of their hand. In the end, Fakhar Zaman returned unbeaten on 57 off 51 deliveries along with Haider Ali (6*) as the Men in Green registered a thumping 8 wicket win to seal the series.

Opting to bat, Bangladesh had one of the worst starts as Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed opener, Saif Hasan, in the very first over the innings. Bangladesh dealt another blow when Mohd Wasim Jr got rid of M Naim in the second over as Bangladesh score read 5/2 with both openers back in the shed.
N H Shanto and Afif Hossain then did some recovery and brought up 50 runs on the board for the side. However, Shadab Khan removed Afif Hossain for 20 in the ninth over as Pakistan bounced back in the game.
At the end, Bangladesh managed 108/7 with N H Shanto (40 off 34) as the top scorer for the side. For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi & Shadab Khan picked up two wickets each while M Wasim Jr, Shoaib Malik & M Nawaz returned with 1 wicket each.
The third and final match of the series will be held at the same ground on Monday.

Speaking after the game, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam said: “The series win is a team effort. The boys responded well as a unit and we carried forward the momentum (from the WC). Bowlers did really well, especially in the last 10 overs and it always helps when you get wickets in bunches. The plans were executed properly. Don’t think so (that there is an overconfidence in low chases).”
“In low-scoring games, there is that tendency but it’s important to remove complacency. Fakhar and Rizwan batted really well and did the job. (On his two poor scores) Yeah, sometimes things don’t go according to plan. Happens in cricket,” he added.
Man of the Match: Fakhar Zaman was adjudged Man of the Match for his unbeaten fifty.

“The way wicket was playing, it was not easy early on to play my shots and with time, we were trying to build a partnership, and we succeeded. Thankfully, we finished it,” said Fakhar Zaman in a post-match presentation.
“To be honest, it was better than yesterday’s surface but still not the ideal track for us. Whenever you play outside your country, it’s very important to win games. We will keep trying hard in the next game too,” he added.
