IND vs WI: Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, may take a break during the West Indies tour due to his current slump in form. The team for the tour will likely be chosen by the national selectors on June 27, the day before the Duleep Trophy in Bangalore gets underway.
The first Test of the tour will be played on July 12 in Dominica, and the second test will take place in Trinidad.
During the IPL 2023 and the World Test Championship final in England, Rohit appeared a little weary. For a portion of the West Indies tour, the selectors want him to take a break.
Hence, Rohit Sharma will probably not play in the upcoming Tests or the eight-game white-ball series (three ODIs and five T20Is). The selectors will talk to Rohit before making a decision, according to TOI.

In the IPL-2023, Rohit scored only 332 runs in 16 games at an average of 20.75, including two fifty-run innings. He was also dismissed for 15 and 43 in the WTC final at the Oval versus Australia.
Ajinkya Rahane, who made a miraculous recovery in the WTC final by scoring 89 and 46, could be named the tour’s stand-in captain if Rohit decides not to play in the Test matches.
Additionally, there is a good chance that neither Mohammed Shami nor Mohammed Siraj will play in the Tests.
Cheteshwar Pujara is under pressure to keep his spot in the team, but if both Rohit and Virat Kohli take a break from the tour, Pujara may get a reprieve.
Rohit hasn’t exactly amassed the kind of runs one would anticipate from a player of his calibre, with the exception of a stylish 120 against Australia on a difficult Nagpur track.
In the ten Tests India has played since Rohit took up the leadership in 2022, he has missed three — one in England due to COVID-19 and two in Bangladesh due to split webbing.
In 11 innings that were completed, he had an average of 35.45 runs, a solitary hundred, and no other scores higher than 50. He scored 390 runs in 7 Tests.
