Indian boxers’ rankings ahead of Paris Olympics 2024

From Nikhat Zareen to Lovlina Bogohain, check out India boxer rankings ahead of Paris Olympics 2024.

As many as Six Indian boxers have qualified for the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024. Three boxers had already secured their spots, and three more have recently joined them after the second world qualification tournament in Bangkok. Ahead of the Paris Olympics 2024, let us check out their rankings.

  2. Lovlina Borgohain – Women’s 75kg
  3. Preeti Pawar – Women’s 54kg
  4. Jaismine Lamboriya – Women’s 57kg
  5. Amit Panghal – Men’s 51kg
  6. Nishant Dev – Men’s 71kg

Indian boxers’ rankings

Nikhat Zareen (6th)

Nikhat Zareen is setting her sights on an Olympic medal to add to her impressive collection at Paris 2024. Since the conclusion of India’s campaign at Tokyo 2020, Zareen has been laser-focused on Paris 2024, confident that this is her moment to shine. Currently, she is ranked 6th in the Elite weight category of boxers.

Preeti Pawar (35th)

Preeti Pawar was a part of India’s boxing team for the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, where she won the bronze medal in the 54 kg category in boxing. Currently, she is ranked 35th under the Elite Women 52-54kg category.

Lovlina Borgohain (4th)

With medals at the Olympics, the world and the Asian championships, all in a span of just a few years, Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain’s rise has been nothing short of meteoric. The senior boxer will look to repeat her antics in the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024.

Jasmine Lamboriya (22nd)

India’s Jaismine Lamboria secured her spot for Paris Olympics after defeating Mali’s Marine Camara 5-0 in the quarterfinals of the 57kg category at the World Olympic Boxing Qualifier in Bangkok earlier in June. Currently, she is ranked 22nd under her category.

Nishant Dev (7th)

Nishant Dev became the first Indian male boxer to book his spot for Paris Olympics 2024. In May 2024, he defeated Moldova’s Vasile Cebotari 5-0 in the men’s 71kg quarterfinals at the World Boxing Qualifiers in Bangkok. Ranked 7th under his category, Dev will be looking to clinch Gold in upcoming mega event.

Amit Panghal

Former World No. 1 Amit Panghal is currently not in the Top 100 rankings in his category. As stated, Amit was a former World No. 1 in the International Boxing Association’s (AIBA) 52 kg category, making him the first and only Indian male boxer to achieve this feat and win a silver medal at the World Boxing Championships.
