Martin Guptill became only the second cricketer to score 3000 or more runs in T20Is after the New Zealander achieved the milestone in the T20 World Cup game against Scotland. The Kiwi superstar scored a stunning half-century to put his team on the front foot after a mini-collapse put New Zealand in a spot of bother. Guptill joins Indian captain Virat Kohli as only the second cricketer to reach that milestone. Kohli remains the fastest to do, having done so in 87 matches earlier this year in the series against England.

Martin Guptill fell agonisingly short of his third T20I century. The New Zealand star scored a stunning 93 off just 56 balls to help his team reach 172 in their 20 overs. The Kiwis are in pole position to make the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup, and win over Scotland on Wednesday should further add to their credentials to make the knockout stages.
