It was one of those matches for New Zealand, where their batters and bowlers rose the occasion to help them script an easy win.
When it came to their bowling, they never gave freebies to the Bangladesh batters. Meanwhile, Bangladesh lost wickets at regular intervals. After losing Mehidy Hasan Miraz with the team score on 12, the visitors never really got going. Barring their opener Najmul Hossian, none one really got going.
After the opener was dismissed, things looked even more difficult for them. From 59/2 they went to 110/7. They eventually only managed 137/8.

The home team batters looked quite aggressive in their case right from the outset. Finn Allen laid the foundation with a flurry of boundaries but he was out early. Conway took over the mantle from there, and started to play some attractive shots. Kane Williamson played second fiddle as the southpaw played shots all around the wicket.
If Conway scored 51-ball 70, Glenn Phillips applied the finishing touches. Phillips finished off the chase in the 18th over as he scored 9-ball 23, including two sixes.
