Put into bat, New Zealand had a shaky start as David Wiese removed in-form Martin Guptill inside the powerplay. Daryl Mitchell followed him back soon. But James Neesham and Glenn Phillips made sure New Zealand reached a competitive total of 163/4.
After early wickets, Kane Williamson and Devon Conway then steady Kiwi’s innings before Namibia bounced back in the game after skipper Gerard Erasmus removed Kane Williamson in the 13th over. However, Glenn Phillips and James Neesham then accounted for 76 runs partnership in the end & helped New Zealand post a good total of 163/4, with 67 coming off in the final four over.

New Zealand are in a pole position to make the semi-finals and will hope to avoid any slip-ups as they take on minnows Namibia today. Namibia has won the toss and invited Kane Williamson’s side to set up the target. The BlackCaps are unchanged & are currently third in the group on net run rate, and face the prospect of a decider against Afghanistan, and will hope to continue their good run. Namibia meanwhile will look to add a surprise win to their kitty and aim to replicate Scotland, who gave the Kiwis a tough fight in their game.

New Zealand vs Namibia pitch report and weather forecast
Sharjah is one of the toughest tracks in the T20 World Cup which has assisted the spinners the most. In Super 12s, spinners have picked 35 wickets here and conceded runs well under 7 runs/over. Teams chasing have had a fine record at the venue and expect the captain winning the toss to bowl first. With this being a day game, expect the temperatures to range in mid 30-degree Celsius range.
