La Liga: Just when you think Javier Tebas cannot surprise you anymore, he makes sure he does. The President of La Liga has been under the spotlight for his comments and how he has dealt with the Vinicius Jr situation. As we get closer to the end of the 2022/23 season and inch toward the new season, this is a tough pill to swallow. It will be the 2023/24 season and it is massively surprising that Javier Tebas is still insisting on not using goal-line technology in La Liga.
The top-5 leagues in Europe, apart from La Liga, all have goal-line technology. The impactful part is that they have had it for a couple of years and it is not something that has been implemented just now.
For a League with the stature of players it holds, it is a crying shame that Tebas is shying away from spending $3 million to enhance the quality of the League.
With the exclusion of the goal-line technology, there could be a lot of 50-50 calls that could cause one team a disadvantage. The clubs in La Liga would not be too happy to listen to this and will be hoping that there could be some change to this decision.
