It’s been over 11 years since Nick Diaz won a UFC fight, but that hasn’t shrunk his confidence. The Stockton native is optimistic about getting back to the top and is interested in testing himself against former champion Israel Adesanya.
In a chat with MMA Mania, Nick Diaz said, “You can see me back on top in 2023, I’m making a comeback. I’m going to be quicker than ever, stronger than ever, better than ever — I’m just gonna be a whole new me. Whoever is on top at the time [I want], preferably Israel Adesanya, if he gets his title back.”
Although Nick Diaz is an MMA legend, fans hesitated to buy his claims. MMA community thrashed Nick Diaz’s idea and trolled him for calling out Israel Adesanya. Here’s how social media reacted to the post.

It’s uncanny to imagine Nick Diaz battling Israel Adesanya at this stage. Diaz has passed his prime and struggled to tackle ‘Ruthless’ Robbie Lawler. Adesanya is still in his prime years and has just lost his middleweight strap. Hence, ‘Izzy’ looks likely to have an easy day against Nic Diaz, if the two lock horns.
