‘New Normal’, Frustrated fans slam BookMyShow as WC 2023 tickets get sold out in minutes

New Day - Same Old Story - Fans lash out at BookMyShow after World Cup tickets get sold out in minutes

World Cup tickets fiasco continues. The fresh batch of tickets that went online today left fans frustrated and furious as official ticketing partner BookMyShow yet again had a huge queue.

Fans took to social media to voice their displeasure on BookMyShow. The website showed a waiting time for the queue to be around 90 minutes.

But that was not all, fans patiently waited on the website for more than 2 hours before the website showed that the tickets have been sold out, much to the annoyance of the fans.

Earlier, due to huge demand for the tickets, fans were left empty-handed. But then the BCCI decided to release 400,000 fresh tickets so that fans could get their hands on them.

“After discussions with the hosting state associations, the BCCI has announced the release of approximately 400,000 tickets for the highly anticipated tournament. This measure is aimed at accommodating as many passionate cricket fans as possible ensuring their participation in this historic event,” the BCCI said in a media statement.

But with all that being said, the ticket fiasco continues as a major portion of the fans continue to wait long hours in the queue, waiting for their turn, only to find that the tickets have been sold out.

Initially, the first time waiting in the queue reached 6 years, but today it was different. While the website showed a waiting time of just 90 minutes, fans however had to wait much longer than that. The tickets were sold at a rate of knots but fans found it extremely hard for their turn to appear on the website so that they could book their tickets.

It remains to be seen if the conditions get better when the next batch of tickets get sold.
