Gold is also possible, but it depends on the performance of other throwers. If it is below the 90m mark, Chopra, who is know for his consistency, should walk away with the yellow metal hanging around his neck.
Major competitors for gold and their season best
- Neeraj Chopra – best throw of 89.94 in June
- Anderson Peters – best throw of 93.07 in May
- Jakub Vadlejch – best throw of 90.88 in May
- Oliver Helander – best throw of 89.83 in June
- Julian Webber – best throw of 89.54 in June

There is great competition for medal this time around though. Without a shadow of doubt, it is Anderson Peters, who is the man to beat. He has been in impeccable form, defeating Chopra for gold in the last Diamond League meet at Stockholm meet. Peters has been consistently throwing the spear beyond the 90m mark, which makes him straightaway a gold medal contender.
