The teenager, who was making his tournament debut, guided Pakistan to an enthralling win over Afghanistan in the second match of Super 4s by helping them reach their 129-run goal. Afghanistan were the favourites to win the game as Pakistan men needed 11 runs from the last over with just one wicket in hand. However, Naseem Shah won the thriller in Sarjah for the men in green by smashing two sixes on Fazalhaq Farooqi’s first two deliveries.

2.3 million people in Pakistan have been impacted by floods and heavy monsoon rain since mid-June. The two provinces with the greatest impacts on people and infrastructure are Sindh and Balochistan. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reports that 1,868,098 individuals are impacted across Sindh and Balochistan, and a total of 176,436 homes have been damaged.
